Summer in NYC seemed to be the most interesting summer I’ve experienced yet. One day it stopped being warm and went directly into being so hot you thought you might actually be melting. With the “final days” of summer upon us, I try to wear all the summery breezy dresses I can before pulling on layers for the next six months.
Pucci is one of those fun designers that is instantly recognizable through pattern. I feel it always illicits a happy feeling and is one of the most versatile designs you can wear because of how much color play there is. With dresses like this, I like to pick one color and play more on it. For example, there is just a bit of green in the pattern, so I was sure to these Jimmy Choo for the green gems in the front detailing!
I know vintage fashion can be daunting to a lot of people but try a designer out that you’ve always liked. Pucci is an easy one because the look is easy and timeless.
Sunglasses are another easy way to play up vintage or retro fashion. I love these 70’s reproduction ones. I feel like they go with everything. If you don’t think you’re ready for the plunge (an all out vintage outfit). Start small, try accessories like sunglasses, scarves, and jewelry before working your way up to clothing pieces. But most of all, always gravitate to pieces you love. It’s easy to like a piece of clothing but you know you love something when you can’t put it down and you’re thinking about it on your way out the store. Those are the type of vintage pieces I gravitate towards and I never feel “costumey”.
Be sure to pull out all your summer fare and wear it all before sweater weather (and pumpkin spice everything) is upon us!
