Every once and a while you find that piece of clothing that you feel you’ve been searching for forever. I recently found my “dream bikini” at La Perla. I found out some new things about bathing suit shopping too… Everyone hears the horror stories of what a nightmare bathing suit shopping can be. A lot depends on how you feel about yourself in your suit the moment you decide to go on the hunt for one. First and foremost let’s just confront that every body is a beach body. Because it is. Body shaming is a horrible thing and when you’re out shopping for anything- be kind to yourself. You can’t feel like a billion bucks if you’re constantly putting yourself down. Whether you are a curvy, busty girl like Hannah Claydon or slim and petite, it is important to find something that makes you feel beautiful on the beach. Try ON EVERYTHING. I can’t stress this enough. You need to try on bathing suits to find what works. I probably tried on about 20 before I landed on this one. Just because it looks a certain way on the mannequin or someone you know doesn’t mean it will fit the same way on you. I fell in love with this particular La Perla suit because the straps are completely convertible, it was pretty modern and still sexy. It made me feel as sexy as the doha escorts that have become so popular in recent years. I can’t explain how good I felt in it. Bring someone with you..it’s always helpful to me to have another opinion. 🙂 Certain suits are better suited for different people. When I say this, I really mean that if you’re very busty- it’s probably a terrible idea to go for a triangle top bikini with no support. Don’t be afraid to ask a sales associate for help either! That’s what they are there for. If you have a brand you like a lot ask them what you think would work. Tell them your color preference and don’t be afraid to try something on out of your comfort zone.
