Raining in NYC

Rainy days in NYC in general can be seem to be a nausance for many different ways. It’s most commonly found to be an inconvenience due to the damage it can do to homes, such as flooding or rotting of roofs and foundations due to unclean gutters (which is actually easily rectified with Clean Pro Gutter Cleaning Seattle). However, I think the sound of quiet rain and the slowing down makes for the most romantic day ever. I don’t mean romantic as in the novel worthy Fabio sense, but romantic as in how overwhelmingly beautiful the world can be- if you just take a few moments to appreciate it. Today I’ve got some good tips on looking great in the rain with a little help from my friends at Brag Vintage. View Full Post

Spring is finally here and with it comes all the newness of a joyful season. Spring reminds me of many things, little yellow chicks, pastels, Easter, my birthday (April Fool’s day of course), and lots of sunshine. It’s always a fresh start, and what better way to celebrate a fresh start than to clean out your wardrobe? It’s always important to clean out your wardrobe in the spring, not only because it helps you to sort through the things that you don’t want anymore, but also because it provides the opportunity to check for clothes moths. If you find any, it’s time to wash everything you own! Clothes moths can get everywhere and will eat through your garments if left for too long, so wash everything that you can on the hottest wash possible, and then head to somewhere like https://www.pestcontrolexperts.com/local/hawaii/pukalani-maui/. Pest controllers will be able to eradicate any remaining moths in your home, getting rid of them once and for all.

Once the moths are gone, look for casualties. Some of your clothes may not have survived the moth attack, so you’re going to need to replace anything with holes in. You might want to look at getting a new wardrobe too that’s more moth-proof. If a friend of mine hadn’t recommended I checked out a site like antiquesworld.co.uk, I wouldn’t have found the beautiful wardrobe that I have now! It’s perfect timing as well. Spring is the best time to try out those new styles you’ve had your eye on all winter. Plus, knowing that sites like PromoCodeWatch.com exist and offers so many discounts, what better way to treat yourself than to a new wardrobe full of clothes? You can never have enough clothes in all fairness. View Full Post

What I’ve learned living in New York City style. Growing up in North Carolina I always felt the need to try to fit in, and dress in a certain way so I wouldn’t stand out at all. In New York, I definitely feel comfortable dressing any way because everyone is so open minded. It’s one of my favourite things about the city. You can do anything, and become anyone. It’s a beautiful place to live and it’s progressive. I will say the same for the south, but NYC is definitely some ways ahead.

2.) The best stores are tucked away and not as easy to find. Chelsea, and Tribeca are both neighborhoods that have many tucked aways stores that a lot of people don’t know about. I also suggest going into a store that looks really interesting to you. Almost always, your gut feeling is right and you’ll find the most beautiful pieces randomly.

3.) Trends dominate more so here than other places. However, unique outfits are also prominent. It’s refreshing to live here and see so many distinct people and styles.

4.) New Yorkers are happy to help you. If you ask if a store has been picked over, or if a sample sale is worth the wait, you’ll be surprised how honest (and often times kind) most people are. There’s there stereotype that New Yorkers are rude, and excessively aggressive people that hate everyone. While I agree that New Yorkers are aggressive, I definitely don’t think they are rude, and insinuating that will cause one to be very rude to you. Just be polite and you’ll be surprised how far that will get you.

What should you wear to go out tonight? Well, first off, where are you going? Are you going out with friends or having dinner with your family?

Ask yourself before you even look in your closet the following things:

Am I going somewhere upscale (and fancy)?

Is this a casual gathering?

Will my grandmother be there? If so, should I really wear a bandage dress?
