I had the pleasure of going to The Club by DM for a wash and blow dry. My good friend Scarlett organized the whole event and I met some wonderful ladies who blog! I was greeted right away and had a mega luxurious wash. Is there anything more delicious than having your hair washed and styled for you? I think it’s such a treat. The DM team used Cloud 9 to wash and style my hair and it looked (and smelled!!) amazing! Here are the results…

Thank you so much The Club by DM for such a relaxing (and wonderful) experience! Be sure to stop by and give them a try- three minute walk from the A or C train 😉

Halloween has always been one of my favourite holidays as far back as I can remember. Every single year without fail I have dressed up. Although my trick or treating days are gone (someone let me borrow your adorable kids) I still enjoy going out in a costume, eating too much candy, and pumpkin anything. This year for Halloween I decided to go as Morticia Addams… View Full Post

Last week I was invited to attend the Vogue & Nexus event “History of Hair” event in NYC. Of course the most fashionable women of Vogue were there- alongside NYC bloggers. Trends found at this event included camel coats, leather fried skirts, and not surprisingly- off the shoulder crisp blouses. All photos by Sean Sime.  View Full Post

The little black dress is an item of clothing on almost every “must have” list. There are probably millions of these dresses out there. How do you make a dress like that unique?

Big bold pops of colour! When you are wearing a black outfit-which we all know is very sexy and slimming. It can be fun to add more color. I’m the type of person to always wear a bright lipstick. If you’re weary about adding bright colors to your outfit, start small and try a bright lip with a black dress.

A few people have also asked me recently how they can make a pretty vintage dress feel modern. My suggestion is to mix modern and vintage pieces like I did here. Classic pieces like this little black dress are classics and they don’t go out of fashion (thank goodness) so you can feel safe picking out a vintage dress with a fitted waist and great structure.

I’m finally starting to get around the city easier. Today I roamed around the wholesale jewelry markets and learned some interesting things.

1. You can barter at some costume jewlery stores

2. If you want you can buy in bulk and use a discount

3. The cheapest place in the city don’t take card, they only take cash!

My favorite thing today (because I can name a ton) about NYC is how diverse the shopping is. If you can think it, it’s available for purchase somewhere here.

Ferragamo shoes for today. Matchy-matchy can be fun.

These earrings I scored at Marshall’s for $14! They can be worn two ways, the underside of the earring can be removed and you can wear just the studs. Two pair in one!
